Panel I
Iran and the West
Human Rights, Security & the Challenge to Democratic States
A high-level political and policy discussion bringing together parliamentarians and policymakers from the United Kingdom, Europe and other democratic countries.
The panel will examine persistent human rights violations in Iran alongside the wider implications of the Islamic Republic’s conduct for democratic states — including transnational repression, threats to dissidents and diaspora communities, regional destabilisation and security concerns.
The discussion will ask how democratic governments should respond, whether existing approaches remain adequate, and where greater international coordination may be required.
